Brent Eacott (2014 competitor):
“Being the first sprinkler fitter to compete from Australia, there was excitement and intrigue as to how well I'd go, but I think I held my own and represented us well. Not knowing what to expect, it was fun, exciting, as well as being tough and I just gave everything a red hot go. What I took away from it was that being more accurate with everything was far more important than finishing the job the fastest. I also learnt that while we perform the same trade, there’s a lot of difference between the countries.
The advice I would give to this year's competitors is to just go there, have fun, absorb as much as you can and make friends along the way (I quickly became friends with the Canadian competitor, with whom I'm still great friends with). Just be yourself and you'll have a fantastic time. I wish I could go back and do it all again it was that fun.”
